NEX Commercializes New Universal Lidding Films Ahead of Schedule Due to Market Interest

Due to unprecedented demand, NEX Performance Films has commercialized their K8646A(now called grade 11616.01) and the white version,K8646AWH(now called grade 11616.01WH)grade “Universal Seal” Lidding films with converters in the US and Canada. These films are used as the sealant layer in PET laminations and provide a consistent peel seal to a variety of substrates including PP, PET, PVC, and HIPS. They also provide a lock seal to HDPE cup stock.

“We’ve been involved in high performance lidding applications for a number of years and we continue to add to our portfolio of products”, says Steve Kelly, VP of Technology & Business Development. “Our Lidding Platform Team has been actively building our lid stock film business and their efforts have helped to drive the development of new films like the 11616.01. We’ve seen considerable customer interest and expect some nice growth with this product family in 2012 and beyond.”
