NEX Controlled COF Technology™

Medium high and medium slip products have typically been a challenge for converters and end users for certain end-use applications. Some years ago, NEX developed and patented our Controlled COF Technology™ (CCT). This additive and process combination allows us to more effectively target specific COF (coefficient of friction) targets. Millions of pounds of CCT films have been successfully used in the Lawn & Garden, Coffee, Cheese, Snack, and Pet Care markets.

CCT ensures a more consistent COF, making it easier to hold the medium slip range during conversion. This results in less transfer of slip to PET, OPP, and nylon top webs, less slip buildup on equipment, and less slip scalping by adhesives and inks. CCT also provides increased stability at higher temperatures, and increased stability from the outside of the roll to the core.

CCT is available in our monolayer, three layer, and barrier constructions.

Specialty Additives

In addition to staying on top of the latest in resin developments, we also work with a variety of specialty additives that can impart additional properties to our films. Some of these include:

UV Blockers, UV Stabilizers

Our UV stabilized films are engineered to withstand prolonged periods of sun exposure, thereby maintaining package integrity almost two and a half times as long as conventional UV stabilized materials. Our UV stabilization technology does not migrate, adds no color, and will not discolor under normal warehouse storage conditions. Our UV Blocker films are used in clear laminations where the goal is to protect the contents of the package, not the film itself.

Antifogs, Antistats

Antifog (AF): We have several film types that use anti-fog technology. These are available in coextruded and barrier film products. They can provide a clear window for products that are either typically refrigerated or that might have large amounts of grease which might transfer to the window of the package. The AF can help in both cases to keep the window clear. Products include fresh cut produce, meat snacks, and refrigerated poultry items among others. These Anti-fogs are FDA approved for food contact applications.
 
Anti-stat (AS):  We also provide films with Anti-stat for applications that might require them. Powdered products, high speed filling of dry products , cheese packaging, coffee, snacks and other can sometime require the use of AS in films. We offer several FDA approved options in our monolayer, three layer and barrier films.

Pigments/Colors
 
While the majority of our films are clear or white, we do offer a variety of pigmented films including both tints and opaque colors. These are typically by special request and will have larger order minimums that our standard clear and white film offerings.
