Laurie Ford is the Division Quality Manager. She is responsible for all aspects of quality for the company. Some of her major responsibilities include establishing and maintaining our Quality Management System and quality programs at NEX. Laurie is also responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining ISO, IMS, and AIB certifications in all three plants.
What do you like about your job?
“All of it! I like building systems and working to continuously improve them and I love working with people. I am most satisfied when our customers are satisfied internally and externally and I feel like I’m making a positive difference in the company. I like working on continuous improvements of our products and process and working toward our goal of being #1 in our industry. I like working for a company who is ambitious and won’t settle for second best.”
How did you get into packaging?
“When I was working in the Medical Devices Industry we purchased PE, PVC, and Urethane Films from suppliers like NEX. I audited these suppliers (not NEX) and worked with them to develop specs for our needs. I decided that after the two companies I worked for both closed due to the changing times it was time to get out of the Medical Device Industry and try something new, but still familiar.”
What are your hobbies outside of work?
“I enjoy cooking, tennis, running, walking, and going to the beach with my family and friends. I also enjoy dancing and music and I’m a huge fan of playing games of all types. Word feud is one of my favorite games. I’m very competitive and will find every angle I can to win, fairly!”
