Technical Innovation

At NEX Performance Films, our technical team is continually developing innovative products for the flexible packaging industry.

We accomplish this in several ways. First, we have long-term relationships with top polyethylene and additives producers, which gives us access to new technologies and insights from industry leaders. We also are a beta site for new resins, so we can stay ahead of the competitive curve and introduce new ideas to our customers.

In addition, we keep current on how unique additive systems function and interact. This way, we can safely incorporate new additives into our films and provide yet another level of product customization.

Finally, we build on our successes. Our team has wide exposure to packaging applications and equipment, and they have the know-how, experience, and creativity to engineer films that meet specific end-user requirements.

All of this work happens in our in-house analytical and testing laboratory, the place where our engineers solve problems, improve existing packaging, and create new products. 

Here’s a preview of some of the innovations being worked on in our lab:

• Resealable Technology: NEX Performance has successfully developed peel-and-reseal films with an integrated pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) layer. This project, currently in active trials, was possible through an investment in equipment and technical expertise.

• Aroma Burst: This patent-pending technology incorporates scent capsules in the PSA layer, releasing a burst of aroma each time the user opens the package.
